Our school saw it my way eventually, as well. In our case, this was a matter of Honors Algebra only existing as a high school course when my DD took it as a then-seventh grader, ergo that one went onto a high school transcript...

but a year later, "Honors Geometry" was suddenly a new middle school course entitled.... "GT Math 8." The catch? Yeah, it was exactly the same class as HIGH SCHOOL 'Honors Geometry.' No, I mean exactly the same class. As in, same teacher, same classmates, same section, etc.

I complained because it was going to lead to an apparent GAP on DD's high school transcript. As it happens, it was also going to put her out of compliance for graduation in our state... though I didn't know that then.
