I am so happy I finally have the perfect school!!! I have not been on the board for a while, we have been drilling down some LD's identified from the WISC/ WIAT testing my ds10 did in the Spring. The tester said he FISQ was not accurate because of the spread but GAI was 142 but was pretty sure that was not accurate either.... So months later we have dysgraphia, written expression, hyperlexia and expressive and receptive language disorder.... However I am not really sure I agree with the last part but let me get to he school part....I moved my son to Yorktown yesterday and I am so happy! They assessed him and he is starting at 5th instead of 4th and he is encouraged to move as fast as he wants/can. He already plans on finishing 5th and 6th in one year. Once he moves to 6th they will add curriculum that he wants in addition to standard classes. For example if he wants to study robotics- they will find a course for him, mythology. They also will advance by individual class, so if he needs 8th grade History but 6th grade math- then that is what he will take- I am in love!!! The teacher said she is putting him in 5th but he could move higher quickly but she wants to make sure he has the skills to handle it- writing, taking notes and organizational skills that middle schools require. They need to open more of these schools- they are wonderful!

Hi Brandy, after 1 year, do you still recommend Yorktown? Thanks.
