My DS had his first day of K today (only a half day). My DH took the day off so we could both go in with him (and then spent the afternoon at the science center!). I'm generally not very sentimental. Though I had a passing tug of bittersweet watching my big kid go with his teacher, I'm happy to report I was not among the weepers.

Proudest moment: when I picked him up, his teacher gave thumbs up on a great day and then said, "He is exceptionally polite."

I was more proud of him in that moment than in all the years he's been reading and doing math equations in his head.

Tomorrow is our first full day smile

That is wonderful to hear!! I am with you. Those are the comments I will make a big deal out of in front of DS and what makes me feel the most proud.

    We are starting Tuesday.....

I love the comments about great behavior; you just never know. Especially if you have a kiddo like mine who is sometimes exceptionally impolite at home!

I hope the first full day goes well too.

Good luck, 1111! I hope all goes well next week.

    St. Pauli Girl...

I did bite my tongue at the teacher's compliment instead of saying, "Well, it's just the first day. Let's see what you think next week."

Orientation today and I think DS4 is in love with his new teacher. He hugged her 3 times (and he is a shy kid). Then he proceeded to sit down at the art table and write her a note that said "Mrs. Henderson, I am so happy that you are my teacher"...I think we have a mutual love affair...:-)
