The Vice-principal at our school always seemed to be the voice of reason. When the teachers wondered what to do about XX year when she needs to be at a different campus, the VP would just say there are options and lets worry about what she needs now and take it one step at a time.

There are many options when classes are off campus....from on-line, to individual math. DD11 has a webcam virtual class for this year so we don't have to drive her to the school and doesn't have an extra hour of school each day. Another student goes to the middle school at the end of the day for math class (hours are staggered so their last math class is after the elem. lets out).

lilswee, sounds like your district is open to gifted a bit more than mine has been. I just got notice that our meeting went from 4 people representing the district to 6 people. 6 to 1, so much for equal representation.

Anyone have an cold hard stats on math acceleration or academic articles. I think I'm going to need them.

Just wanted to say that I had meetings like that as well. be strong in what you believe. Math has got to be the easiest thing of all subjects to do this with, remind them of that.

Our district seems to be open to it in MS but not so much before. The past couple years have been a struggle.

    Wow, Imp that is awesome!

Well, my meeting is over and miracle of miracles we have a correct IEP written! I can't say I'm the most popular person with the district, but at least I know my kid's education is being handled properly!

Thank you all for your support!!!!!
