In fact, in France, schools don't test kids. Most of the time, initiative comes from the parents/ or the teacher who noticed low achievement but at the same time bright behaviour from their kids.
Really? Things have changed then, because I grew up in France and was tested, twice, prior to each one of my grade skips. And on the day I was getting my second IQ test at 9 one of my classmate was being similarly evaluated, albeit for opposite reasons. In both cases the tester was sent to the school by l'inpection academique.
Still. The school psychologist should really have the manuals and be able to compute the scores for you. And if you paid for private evaluation, call your tester back and ask for the specifics.
