    My third grade son is qualified to take a CogAT test in February 2012. We are living in Schaumburg, Illinois. Please advice me so i can prepare my son for the test. i will appreciate if anyone can provide me detail information or any good test prep book.

    Hi Omviki - Welcome! Sorry we missed your posts. The CogAT isn't really a test you should prepare for, beyond generally preparing your kiddo to do his best in answering the questions. Although the CogAT is NOT an IQ test, I think Aimee Yermish's advice in this article on Hoagies is useful:

    welcome from a fellow Schaumburg parent. DD is in second grade and will also be taking the CoGAT. She also took it last year but just missed the cut off.
    As SPG said, there is no way to prep your child. In third grade I believe the test is timed. I would ensure he is well rested and has a good breakfast. They give the test over 2 days. I would tell him it is a bubble test and I don't think most kids have seen this before. I would also tell him to try his best.
