there was also an age equivalent on the WIAT, but I decided that didn't mean as much to us, since I'm more concerned about where the school would want to let her be at, if that makes sense.
Also, the way I understand it is that on the WIAT, the questions for each subtest get progressively more difficult until you get to where the child cannot answer or they hit the ceiling (I assume there is one because of the > use)
There is also a 12 page narrative report where the psychologist explains everything, including the averages and deviations, etc...
We will still apply to DYS. I will submit both test PLUS a portfolio as well because she is also suddenly doing a lot with music and art that is not testable like that, but has to be seen in a video or something. I also assume that her scatter makes her interesting and is the kind of kid Davidson was set up to help, right?
We are having a lot easier of a time using the keyboard instead of writing. And as far as I can tell, handwriting itself is not a grade really as long as it's readable...but they are not actually graded on letter formation...
Now, I have to call back and check, but like I said, we might be getting that consult with the developmental pediatrician as well, so we might find more things...but mostly, I think that once she adjusts to her new schooling situation, she will really be doing amazing stuff...I just have to convince the school to let us have it
