Our wait is over!!! Our Explore scores are in. DD9 did very well, but her scores surprised me. Science was the highest, then English, Reading and lowest was math. All are above DYS guidelines and taking into consideration we really don't afterschool or prep, I'm pleased.

We got the national comparison and DD got a kick out of the fact that she "passed" 8th grade. We will not get CTD comparison scores until mid April, so not sure if DD is in the 98th percentile or not.

Dottie, hang in there. Next year I will just think the wait is 8 weeks and leave it at that. I don't think DD is ready for ACT, so we will endure another Explore wait.

YAY, Jen! Getting those qualifying scores takes such a weight off your shoulders, doesn't it?

    Yippee!

Plus: no more waiting! (Well, until the DYS wait, of course...)

Sure! If she "passed" 8th grade this year, then she could be "passing" 9th grade and beyond by next year.

It's great for 3rd too, but last year DS only made 3/5 at DYS level as a (young) 3rd grader. (I think they are very close in age?)

Anyway, congratulations! It sounds like your scores were well worth the wait. Given the percentiles we got last year, your daughter sounds closer to the ACT levels than you might think.

    Dottie,

She is a 4th grader, but a 3rd grader by age (Nov. birthday). This is her first Explore test, so I'm not sure how she would have done as a third grader. Some of the 4th graders around here are turning 11 already at our school. There is a trend to hold back many summer/spring birthdays.

Congratulations, Jen. All scores above the DYS levels. Wow! What a proud moment.
