DD is very interested in entering art or writing contests (she's especially interested in playwriting contests). I am researching this, but thought someone else might already have some stuff bookmarked. She already had art featured in the Zoobooks magazine and enjoyed that. I assume there are other kids' magazines with stuff like this...? I found a Scholastic site for young writers but you have to be 12 and up...a lot of them seem to have an age cut-off that is too high.

Prufrock Press has a magazine written for and by gifted kids. They have a call for submissions every so often and if I am remembering correctly even a call for kids to be on the editorial staff of it. Go to their website and look up creative kids magazine. I don't know where you look for the submissions part but you can get a subscription there.

stone soup magazine accepts submissions from 14 and younger. It's a great magazine. Their website is also great. Read through the Children's Writing Archive to get a sense of the writing (which is very impressive IMO). Stone Soup also publishes artwork.
