The RIAS can be useful for doing IQ testing for people who have LDs involving reading, motor output, and visual processing, as it is less demanding in those areas than many other IQ tests while still being an accurate measure of "g". It also relies less on social reasoning in assessing verbal IQ than the WISC IV does. Not everyone is familiar with it though, so if you are planning on using the results for entry to a particular program, make sure they will accept the scores.
