so, we are waiting to hear if DS is accepted to the "gifted" private school we applied for. They are considering him for 1st grade and said that if he gets in, he would be the 3rd child in history of the school that was admitted into a grade before that grade's birthday cutoff. he had a "trial" day yesterday with the K class, who would be his cohort should he enter 1st. the little feedback I received was that he wrote a note to the teacher telling her that he wanted to go to a different school. We think he was overwhelmed and lonely there, because he did not know anyone. The school psych observed him and said that he was fidgety and looking around the room a lot for cues on what he was supposed to be doing. They all thought that the note showed well developed coping skills -as he was able to express himself with out acting out or crying. We will not know until Friday. Am going crazy!!!!
