I have never thought of applying DYS because I thought DS is not that bright. Well, his IQ test score shows maybe he is not at that level but I am surprised he got pretty good math scores on WJ-iii. I was not hothousing. His school didn't provide any gifted program or accelerate math program. He did have math supplement from EPGY but average he only did 2 sessions (40mins) per week, sometimes less. DS got 155 (>99.9%) on broad math so I doubt his WISC PRI could be higher. This is the subtest scores of PRI:
Test age: 8y7m
Block Design: 39 (RS) 14 (SS) 91 (PR)
Picture Concepts: 21 (RS) 15 (SS) 95 (PR)
Matrix Reasoning: 29 (RS) 19 (SS) 99.9 (PR)
PRI is 137, 99 percentile

The psychologist thought his visual-motor coordination is poor due to low average PSI score. Could poor visual-motor coordination affect his Block Design score too? Could Matrix Reasoning contribute higher PRI if using Extended Norms? Or DS is just a high achiever? I am pretty fine if his scores didn't meet the DYS level. I am just surprised by his broad math score and want to know there is any possibility he will get chance to apply.
