The lads have enjoyed some good historical fiction about that period, especially Eloise Jervis McGraw's "The Striped Ships," Janet Gray's "Adam of the Road," Cynthia Harnett's "The Wool Pack," and Alison Uttley's "The Traveller in Time." Cynthia Harnett is fabulous; we're going to try to track down her other books about the Middle Ages, too.
