It really cannot hurt to apply. If they need more information, they will ask you.

If you prefer to wait, or if DYS asks for more info, you could try asking the school your child will be attending if they might consider testing your DD. Our DS's school tested him on the WJ-III before kindergarten (achievement test - we already had IQ). This could also help your decision about which grade your DD belongs in and what sort of differentiation your DD might need, so the school might be willing to do it. If they seem willing, see if they'll test on one of the DYS-qualifying tests.
