I read a few months ago about some recommendations regarding science curricula and/or textbooks. But now I can't find the thread! Can someone either point me to that thread, or give me their suggestions? I have hired a local college chemistry student to meet with my DS7 once a week to talk about science. These first two weeks the tutor has worked with DS about various chemistry topics. My DS is LOVING it, but I'm thinking it might be better to have her take a more tactical approach, perhaps following a curriculum. It would also be really nice for him to have a book to read about the subjects she presents, as he has had many questions about the topics after she has left.

I remembered a previous thread where someone mentioned that she/he has a science textbook around the middle school level that includes a lot of experiments that can be done with items typically found in a house. Does anyone remember what curriculum/textbook this was? Or know of one?

Thanks in advance for your recommendations!
