We just tried the SCAT test DC6+ not quite 7. DC is 1 year accelerated. DC took the whole test without a break and finished. DC tried to get the person's attention but that person never went in to check DC -- in a room of adults. That made DC rather upset afterwards and DC never wants to go back there. (That is the only prometric in the area.) DC will probably be ok in a year.
I was expecting DC to get a high verbal score, which DC did, close but not good enough to take online courses.
Luckily, we easily qualify with the WISC-IV at Stanford's EPGY. So I think we'll be doing that instead.
However, I will definitely consider prepping DC more as now DC has some experience with a timed test. DC also knows about going back to review.
So, if it is what you want, I think definitely retest. It is good testing experience for sure. The second time must be easier because now they know what the test is like.
