The therapist was quite giddy when she called me: his was the highest score she's seen in 20+ years.
Please pardon this interruption, but I must ask a question. How many of you have heard this statement or something similar after having your child tested? I ask because our tester said the same thing to us (except he said that he hadn't seen a score like ds' in 25 years of testing). Is this just something they say to us parents?
In our situation, the person is a district speech therapist who only administers tests (like the PPVT) after a student is referred for a speech issue; she's not involved in any of the more formal cognitive or achievement testing. So for her, she sees very few GT kids to begin with, greatly reducing the likelihood of ever running into the already rare EG/PG kids.
