There was recently a discussion of MAP on a YSP elist. Some of the parents said that their schools did use the MAP test and modify the child's curriculum based on the Des Cartes, to wonderful results. Some said that the test was given, and it did help with advocacy, but that the teachers were very confused by the RIT levels. Some said that their children spent 3 hours or more on the math test - and some said that didn't happen because the test started where the child left off last time the test was given. One said that the teacher told the children to just stop if the test was going on 'too long.'
