Grinity-I will check on which level of the ITBS they are planning to administer. Do I need to check on the others as well? BTW-already figured things were not going to go according to the time schedule they provided. We still haven't heard from the Principal regarding our questions-guess she's waiting to hear from the District. I'm headed to the school this morning to ensure that testing will not begin until our questions have been answered and we have been made privy to some sort of testing schedule beforehand. Honestly, I'm a little worried about this dragging another month. March seems like a really bad time in the school year for dd to transfer into first grade, don't you think? It does concern me (what so far hasn't?) that the longer we wait to transition, the harder it will get on dd to transition.

Also, I'm thinking we've already begun in the hole this week since first, dd has come down with the sniffles (don't know what to do about that, what with the testing and all). Second, she and older sis (dd9) were playing "sharks in the water", dd9 kicks dd6 in the mouth (yes, unintentionally), and her two bottom front teeth get knocked loose (they were already slightly moving). Had to go into lecture mode..."see, this is what happens when you guys don't listen. I've said time and time again, THE HOUSE IS NOT A JUNGLE GYM! It's not that mommy doesn't want you to have fun..it's just that I can see these kinds of things coming and know what will happen next. I hope you have learned your lesson for next time." Dd6 asks, "when you were young and didn't listen to your mommy and daddy, did you get in trouble?" I said, "big time!"

She kinda freaked when I told her we would probably have go see the dentist later on today.

I'm calling the spa first thing tomorrow morning-wait it is tomorrow morning-I mean later today. I think I'm going to have to schedule a massage every day of this process just so I have something to look forward to other than eating my way out of house and home!

Kidding-but not really!

CAMom-I think one of the reasons the district hasn't tried to "railroad" us full steam ahead, and it has helped tremendously, is that due to the power of the internet, it becomes quite easy to gather needed information and appear all knowing when the time comes to meet face to face with school officials. You should have been there when I asked the Deputy Superintendent if they were going to use the IAS to determine dd's eligibility for grade acceleration. The look on her face was priceless! Another factor heavily at play is that dh is very fluent in Eduspeak. He has 12 years (and counting ) experience working for educational companies, on the administrative side of things. He currently holds a position in a non-profit organization. We always attend school meetings together, a tag team of sorts, and attack it (in a good way) head on, with our lifesavers...Luke, I am your father...sorry, it's really WAY to early for me to even be up right now.

You guys are wicked awesome!!! Thanks for all your advice and feedback.

I'm off to watch the Grammy's on the dvr. I actually did get some sleep earlier this evening.
