I just want to prepare you that some schools just won't move on their stance. If I remember correctly you are dealing with a private school that doesn't have to play by the same rules as a public school might. What a public school would have to do will depend on your state laws. (I can't remember what you have said about your state, sorry.) They may not be willing to do more, or expect their teachers to do more.
