For kids who have an average IQ of 130 there are many high Schools that accommodate gifted children well without any grade skipping.

If you have a HS that allows kids to take the classes at any age, once they are ready, then many many HG and PG kids can benefit from those schools.

I think in High School that different kids work harder than others because they have different goals. For lots of talented kids, they can slide by with B+ and not work at all. If they are of a temperament to push themselves to get the A+ then many will have to work very hard.

Some kids study and lie about it - often the ones who had 'enforced underachievement' and believe that making an effort proves that one isn't really so smart after all.

Depends on the LOG, the High School, and the personality of the kid. Many schools offer Independent Study so the sky is the limit. Pace is about the only thing that never really gets solved.
