Yippee Niki -
sorry about DH - it's part of the normal human 'wanting everything to be perfect for their kids' and somehow wives and husbands are 'safe enough' to kick around.
Wouldn't it be nice if there was a free local school just filled with same-age kids who needed what your son needed from school. Yummy! But for now, good enough is good enough!
I would STRONGLY reccomend making a written out copy of your notes, for the file. Attach what you wrote to an email to the gifted teacher and the ESE cordinator, with a 'this is what I heard, do I have it right?' note. This will help you stay on top of things and also keep them accountable. Schools tend to think that if they can somehow 'say the right thing' then they don't have to actually do anything. Seems that they think that parents mostly want 'to be heard.' NOT!
