Our district administered the MAP test for the first time about 4-6 weeks ago. Classes ended last Wednesday, with no MAP results ever being sent home. I called the school about it yesterday and was told (not by the principal, but by the person he asked to call me back instead - grrrrr) that I should "hold tight," that printing the scores and the "fancy letter" (which is, no doubt, pre-drafted by NWEA) takes time and we should look for the results to come home in the fall.
Nevermind that the scores will be completely outdated and useless by then. Nevermind that the classroom teachers have had the results since about a week after testing. Nevermind that there only about 250 kids in the whole school and it couldn't possibly take more than a couple hours to print, copy and label envelopes.
<deep breath>
I'm wondering if it would be possible to contact the company directly and get the results with the boy's SSN. Have any of you ever done this? Is it worth a shot?
If you don't think that's a reasonable course, do you have any other ideas?
