I knew he was gifted based on his behavior, but had nothing to comare it to. When I started posting on the MN gifted website someone recommended to me that he might be able to get into Davidson Young Scholars program. I had him IQ and achievement tested and he was at the levels that they require for acceptance.
There are good resources if I want to move from where I was about 3 years ago (1 hour north). We found a Montessori Kindergarten where I live that thinks they can accommodate him. Unfortunately, I won't be here to use it.
He does enjoy playing with his agemates right now. It will be interesting to see if that changes. His preschool is currently for socialization and he likes his friends there.
