When taking a test my 15 year old daughter will refuse to budge past a problem that she can not immediately solve. This is not anything new. It is ingrained in her personality. A normal 3 hour test has become a multi-day ordeal. She is taking college level physics and math classes at a well known on-line university. Her on-line teachers have been very supportive so far.
I had previously come to see this as a "not really a problem" because she is showing a tenacity to solve really difficult problems and she has the potential to solve a "big one" later in her career.
We finally ran up with a teacher who says he will give her time and a half for a test max. There is no way that she will ever be able to do this. Any suggestions on where to go to get good high level math classes and supportive teachers?
