My DD would agree - it was a fun class for her.
It helped her learn to fail so she could acquire the skills to succeed (if that makes sense).
A programming environmen is a safe place to fail - infinite loops, plain wrong answers, arcane error messages etc all helped her to moderate her natural and ingrained perfectionism.
Once she got her feet under her (she took it early 2015 at 10) she really took off with it and surprised me with het enthusiasm.
We actually did it to slow her down a bit because I was scared of her going straight into the Algebra I class right away because she had seemed stressed out over school work already. I wanted to give her a challenge that would be low stakes and fun - it worked.
(I have since learned that the stress at that time was mainly caused by school grade peers adjusting to early adolescent girl type stuff)
