At our anti-skipping school, you'll immediately get dismissed by administration asking for a two year skip (and they'll probably have a good laugh when you leave).
That's fine if you only want a one-year skip anyway. An initial high offer makes subsequent lower offers seem more reasonable than if you had made the lower offers right away, even if they are still higher than what is deemed normal. (see
