Have you looked at Khan Acadamy's JavaScript courses? (https://www.khanacademy.org/computing/computer-programming/programming)

My DD9 wanted to take that JHU CTY's Scratch class also, but as you mentioned, it is crazy expensive. I looked around for some alternatives and was happily surprised by the depth of Khan Acadamy's courses which are _free_. We decided to try that first and my daughter loves it. Also, I like that she's learning JavaScript instead of Scratch. I'd highly recommend exploring Khan Acadamy before shelling out for the CTY class.
