I know many of you are quite knowledgeable about testing, so I thought that you might know: at what score do you begin to suspect your DC may have hit some subtest ceilings? I was recently given just an FSIQ from DD's WASI test (no PIQ or VIQ). I am almost positive no extended norms were used (and I am not even certain that they are available for this test - it looks like they probably are not).
DD has taken quite a few tests recently to get into her school's G&T (she got in for now - they are reassessed in a couple of years in order to stay in), so I am not eager to put her through additional testing. Still, I am wondering if I really have a handle on her. My goal is to meet her current and future educational needs.
I am also wondering whether I should keep an eye on DYS for her (more for potential future use)...but I REALLY want to minimize additional testing.
Thanks to advice here, she will be taking at least one more test: I plan to have her sit for an upcoming Explore test.
Would DYS possibly take a WASI FSIQ (the VIQ or PIQ might also qualify, but I do not have them), or is it possible to get the WASI test results from the school, take them to a private examiner and have them complete the additional subtests for a full WISC (thus avoiding the "training effect" of completely redoing the subtests)? I do not think the school has any interest in completing the WISC. Again, I would prefer to minimize additional testing for DD.
I do think I need to ask her school for more complete test results. Other than the PIQ and VIQ, is there anything I should be asking for?
TIA!
