From my son (6.5): Does anybody ever score in the 100th percentile? I said no because a 99 means that you scored higher than 99% of everyone else. "But what if you scored 99.99%?" And, "what if you and someone else both scored the same, 99?". Although I have a somewhat firm (like jello) grasp on percentiles, I can't think of a way to explain it clearly to him. The more I tried to explain it, the more muddled it became. (Should I mention that I aces Statistics in college? Ahh, but that was mmjhth years ago!) Maybe I should give him the school line: you can't learn that until statistics class

No big deal. Just one of those things that came up.
