Welcome. Generally, it isn't recommended to give the WPPSI to a gifted 5 year old. A WISC would better show that child's strengths. But a WISC can't be given until the child is 6. Is your son close to his 6th birthday? Was there a specific reason that you wanted the WPPSI? What about a SB-V?

If you want to say more about why you are interested in getting the testing, we might have useful general advice. Wish I had a name for you.

If you have to cold call a lot of offices, you can ask - 'In the last year, how many kids have you tested with an IQ between 130 and 140? Over 140? Over 150?' and assure the office that you just need a ballpark estimate. Don't let them get away with 'I deal with a lot of gifted kids...'
