I did not do apps for my DS8 .. I bought mine a Fisher-Price I Can Play Piano System.
You plug it into the TV and the child must watch the screen to play the music and so learned where the keys are by memory not bu sight.
We did this for 3 months and he really did well and so we asked if he wanted to learn the piano for real
3 years later this is him now
While I understand the convenience of an app on an iPad in a car or such i think missing the feel of the keys and the act of memorizing their place places the learned at a disadvantage
