But not to be a downer, it hasn't helped directly in my son's public gifted school. The school doesn't know what it means. It HAS helped by letting me talk to other DYS parents and attend the DYS seminars. I'm getting lots of good information to help my son's education there.

I agree about it not being a big help if you are already in a gifted school (although in our old gifted private school they said it with capital letters, ie: "HE's a DAYYYYvidson SCHOOOOlar") but I think it can help in "regular" public school situations and having a family counselor to bounce things off of and have as back up / support is great! You will be happy you did it, I agree with Kate
