My dd9 never slept as an infant/toddler. From a very early age (months old)she would take maybe a 30 min. power nap sometime during the day but otherwise was up all day and singing to herself until 11-12pm at night then up during the night numerous times to nurse and up for good with the sun in the morning. I co-slept with her because otherwise there was no way I'd even get a moment to close my eyes. I can remember lying in bed watching her roll around and "sing" to herself with my eyes closing (because I needed sleep) and suddenly the singing would stop and she'd be asleep.

When she was around 18 months old, I would do anything in my power to keep her from napping (even for a few minutes during a car ride) because that meant she might, at least, fall asleep by 10pm rather than after midnight.

I think she was around 4 years old before she started sleeping longer in the morning but she is still a night owl. I homeschool her and she will often bring me her next day's school work at 9pm and finish it before bed.
