For end of second year, that puts him right around the 99th percentile for math, and less (IIRC ~77th percentile) for reading. The Cogat scores show that he's likely gifted.

If your son is requesting math, I'd definitely give it to him. If you think the school is a bad fit because you can tell that he's bored and not learning, you have to change his environment somehow, so if you're staying with that school I think you have to advocate.
