Last month the "We got in to DYS" posts appeared on 8/31, starting in the early afternoon.

Today is the last day of September (though not a Monday like 8/31 was), and I can't stop checking my email. :-)

The email we got when our application was complete said "at least 3 to 4 weeks" from 9/15, which would mean at least another week....

Anyone know if we can expect to hear from them this week? Or should I just try to chill out?

Um yep, me too! I'm also checking here obsessively hoping to see if anyone has heard. I'm trying not too think about it too hard, but I also noticed that last months group heard at the very end of the month.

I really, really hate waiting!

This is from A Facebook Davidson update.
"Some staff in D.C. for Davidson Fellows events. On Capitol Hill today with Fellows & award ceremony tonight! What an impressive, and gracious, group of young people!!!!"

I think the FAQs talk about taking longer to process the applications when the staff is busy with events... Just FYI.. it might apply this time.

We'll be sending in our application in a few days, so we are not waiting yet.

Do they usually let everyone know within a month?

This is what they say in the FAQs:

Q. What is the deadline for submitting an application?
Applications are reviewed on the 15th of each month. Applications received by the 14th of each month will be reviewed and decision letters will be sent by the beginning of the following month. Occasionally, decision letters are delayed due to scheduled events hosted by the Davidson Institute.

So after they receive all parts of the application they email you and let you know? I just sent mine off yesterday

Yep -- we got a very polite email saying that all DD's application pieces were in. And now...still waiting...
