I walked in on DS5 giving DS2 a puzzle making test a little while ago. It was so cute! He was giving his younger brother various wooden puzzles and watching closely as he completed them. He was counting how many tries it would take him to complete the puzzle. He had pen and a paper and was making tally marks each time DS2 got a piece in the correct spot.

    The results:
Shape Puzzle: Took 9 tries for 9 pieces
Number Puzzle: Took 11 tries for 9 pieces.
Alphabet puzzle: Took 38 tries for 26 pieces.

Total tries was 58 for 44 pieces. DS5 then went on to write the number as a fraction and then (with my help) expressed as a percentile.

Either he is a future psychologist or he's just had too many of his own evaluations smile

LOL Too cute smile You have a future researcher on your hands.

DS5 likes to play the teacher to DS4. DS5 loves it, DS4 hates it and to be honest I don't blame him. It can get touch of annoying the way he does it.

That's amazing! And so cute that he's giving tests to your DS2. smile

You'll really have to worry when he starts giving some conclusions based on his research...

HA! According to DS5, the conclusion was that DS2 needed to practice the alphabet puzzle some more. He even told me that he thinks the scores will get better as DS2 gets older since the puzzles will become easier for him.

I guess he needs to start recruiting some more test subjects for his research...I can just imagine the ad. smile

I can totally relate to how your DS4 feels. Growing up I was always the "research subject" and never the researcher. It got old fast wink

    LOL!!

OK, now is he going to learn to self-monitor??

I stayed up all night when I was 5 listening to the station on the radio giving temp data and plotting it.

Then the next day I found the same data in the newspaper!!

    AARGH!!!
