I would say that perhaps one should never surprise a teacher in 'needy mommy mode' but intesad, attempt to enter that situation when you have your 'Mr. Rodger's Neighborhood' persona stapled firmly in place. Sorry I don't have a good way to describe these ideas, but I hope you know what I mean.
