Hello back! It just seems very sad to say hello to a large group and then have no responses! I am not on this site very often, or I would have said hello earlier!
I have 2 highly gifted daughters, 12 and 8, and agree with you, they are so much fun to raise! The things they say and the things they do! Like most on this list, I always assumed that the baby books were very PC and so they overcompensated when they said when a baby could or would do what. Mine were always months ahead in every category!
On the subject of writing the book - I advice that you do just that. You will be amazed how much you forget as they get older.
