Yep. Had one eye patched from about 1.5 yrs to 2.5 yrs due lazy eye(amblyopia)/strabismus/strong astigmatism. I think the patching, though it strengthened my right eye through the strabismus, only emphasized the brain wiring disconnected between l/r vision. Can't catch balls, always considered myself flat out clumsy, etc.

When I figured out the brain wiring thing and its effect on depth perception in high school, I wondered about trying to train it out. But I thought given my internal visualization skills were so important to me, that I was afraid to try anything in worry of it breaking the awesome skill to get a mediocre skill useful mostly for things (sports) that I had no interest in.

I also thought about sympathetic patching when my DS was patching, but didn't as most things I've read suggest patching only works when younger. Right now, the penciled in plan is if we decide that DS needs VT and gets a home program to use, that I may try it out myself (as long as it looks fun.)
