Does anyone have experience with Northwestern's CTD GLL (Gifted Learning Link) online classes, either the Enrichment classes for 3-8 or the Honors Class for 6-8? I've read one thread on it which was quite negative (Honors sciences courses, very little instructor involvement or peer interaction), but have seen some positive comments on others (Enrichment writing class for 9-10 year olds).

I have a 10 and 12 year old. We have had positive experience with the CTY Online Reading/Writing courses. Was wondering if the CTD GLL was similar in quality, as they have more variety of course offerings. We are interested in the Latin/Etymology courses, or perhaps the writing courses.

Anyone with comments, experience? Thank you.

We are signed up with CTY but had technology problems. They were on the phone with me and computer sharing and supposedly fixed it but still having problems.

So no comment on quality but I am hearing great things about their extracurricular activities and programs outside of the courses. So once you are in, you can participate.

thanks Wren. Our experiences with CTYOnline has been good. They use Moodle for their Reading/Writing courses, and we liked the interactiveness with other students as well as the weekly feedbacks from the instructors.

Anyone else with CTD (Northwestern's Talent Search) GLL (Gifted Learning Link) experience? I'm debating if it is worth having my 10 year old take the EXPLORER test for it. (She is already with CTY so we normally take SCAT). CTD GLL's Latin classes and other classes seemed interesting to us.

    thank you.
