Any other Cogito parents on this forum? My D (now 15) was invited to join this online community through CTY. The online community of bright kids has been a big part of her life for the past couple of years. Almost all in a positive way, although there have been a few downsides. Just want to link up with any other parents whose kids use it.

Our child has had a positive experience too. I encourage kids who are eligible to give it a try.

Absolutely, sign up if you get invited! D has found a whole new group of very smart friends. They have gotten her interested in Latin, neuroscience, philosophy, and reading more classics. Sometimes she spends too much time on Cogito when she should be studying, and there is occasionally some drama when members have family problems or issues that they bring to their online friends. But she made a very good friend who lives in our city, and they have gotten together in person. D does not make friends easily, so it has been great for her.

    I also think so.

A bit late, but DD14 also enjoys it very much.
