Hi everyone. smile Summer is coming up and we live in a very secluded area. It is hot where we live so I like to have options available to do indoors. What are your favorite family games (board, wii, etc)? Summer activities? Family friendly movies? Anything really.

I have been doing a board search for ideas. I remember a board game thread but can't seem to find it. I found the book rec's which is awesome.

    Thanks for your ideas.

My kids liked board games but probably preferred puzzles. If you are interested in that sort of thing I can recommend the following:

Rush Hour games - they are available as an online game or as a board. Lots of difficulty levels and challenging. Also has different versions e.g Safari.

Wasgij jigsaw puzzles- these are great fun and also challenging.

PS. Safari, as in African not Mac. LOL.

We like teh board game... the way things work. there are different levels of play... one with just the question cards, and one with models you use to help you answer different questions (like physics and things to help you figure out "the way things work".) the questions are fun, educational etc. Love this game!

Summer is a nice time to do some cooking with the kids. We are into making smoothies on the weekend.

We will do summer journals too. I would like to hear others ideas on doing journals.

I think it's nice to have a ongoing big project if you have the space for it. We have a huge box of legos. I always thought it would be fun to make a big city on our activity table.

Our big summer plan is to make a Rube-Goldberg machine with the family. Also on the list is a trebuchet.

As far as board games go..we like to play Carcassonne and Pandemic (cooperative game to save the world....really cool for kids who like strategy and negotiation.)

    Have a beautiful summer!
