It has been quiet here. Not too many posts.

Are we all just busy these days?

Busy lately with all the nice weather we've had (with the exception of last week). DS had a full eval through the school so I'm anxiously awaiting the results of that.
All I know so far is he's a very bright boy (which is nothing new) and he's delayed in gross motor. We are in the process of filling out the autistic questionnaires as they think he has enough characteristics that we might be able to qualify him as autistic like. We'll see how that goes but I am super curious about the iq/achievement testing. (Plus I really want to see the reports so we can take them to his ped to see if he needs further developmental/psych evals to see if he may have Asperger's.

Oh yeah, and I'm cranky about all day K next year frown

Good luck with the eval CourtneyB.

Why are you cranky about all day K?

I have slowed down here quite a bit because I think I'm just worn out from this all. School is helping a little but just doesn't get it. DH is not really totally getting it. DS just became a YS and seems to really have lost some of his love of learning by his situation and is crabby. Gifted school is a yucky 45 min. drive in an undesirable area but I feeling like I would give it a try. I'm just trying to enjoy the good weather.

I know what you mean. I've just accepted this year for what it is, a mistake. I feel like we have a good plan for next year so I'm just waiting to get there. I'm so ready for summer. Spring break just ended and it was so wonderful to have DS6 home.

E&W - Thanks smile I'm cranky about K because they aren't very good with helping the kids who are ahead. So this year we worked with my son a little after school but there was always still more than enough time to play and do after school stuff. Next year with DD not getting out until after 2pm that limits what we can do at home as well as after school activities.

We've been trying since the beginning of the year to get them to do something for my son - still waiting beyond some very simple in class 'challenge' work with all the regular K work and K homework too.

Sorry to hear so many of ya'll are having issues, guess it comes with the territory.

My verbal DD7 has recently became interested in math. School is pretty good about meeting her needs, but I got Aleks to let her do more at home when she feels the need.
