Fans of the band They Might Be Giants, PBS and science:

Please post a comment on this page to help support a grant for a joint project between TMBG and NY's PBS station for an educational, online TMBG game. Positive comments are necessary for them to get the grant. Please post one yourself, and then spread the word!

Thanks! I'd love to see this happen!

How great! We are big TMBG fans and I was just telling DH like a month ago that they really should start a show. We have so many of their albums...and I used to listen to them growing up. Now the kids have their "Here comes the 123's" and the "ABC's" that they love! I will definitely comment!

I'll add a post. Do you have a website to listen to examples?

    Thanks for the help.

I don't know of a sample for the games, since that's what they're hoping to create. But I can refer you to some YouTube videos so you can hear the sort of music and lyrics they have. They're fun!

    "Meet the Elements"

    "Why Does the Sun Shine"

    "Science is Real"

"We're the Mesopotamians" (Not science, but one of our favorites.)

(They also recorded "Istanbul, Not Constantinople," "Birdhouse in Your Soul" and "Don't Let's Start" back in the 80s/early 90s, which were all alternative but radio-friendly hits for them. Maybe that helps you place them?)

I love that they grew up with their fans and now they make educational music that parents can enjoy, too. Smart!
