Interesting article about a German family who won asylum in US because they would face persecution in Germany for home schooling. (homeschooling for religious rather than gifted reasons, but still, makes you glad for the freedom of choice in the US)

    Oh that kind of asylum...
I was hoping there was going to be a place homeschool parents could go to take a little rest.

I thought it was a mental institution for those of us crazy for homeschooling, crazy *from* homeschooling, or just plain crazy. LOL!

And you're like the third person I've seen to similarly title a post on this topic! LOL

I still want a padded schoolroom. wink

If there are any entrepreneurs reading, it sounds like there is a great business opportunity here. Lots of homeschooling moms near (or let's be honest - over) the edge. Perhaps it could be part mental hospital and part spa.

LOL. My first post and it's a response to this. That was funny! I too thought "Where IS there a homeschool asylum? I'd like to get membership!"

We've been homeschooling our four for 9.5 years now and always thought I'd need the asylum. But then the last came along and he's an super energetic, gifted boy and we often don't know what to do with him ...... so now I KNOW I'd like someone to create a spa asylum!!!!
