My daughter was tested at age 4 yrs 4 months using WPPSI iii. I received a report from the psycologist with verbal iq, performance, full scale, processing speed, etc. along with percentage, standard dev. info and scaled scores on subtest. The report did not, however contain test age equivilent info.

My daughters full scale is 137, performance 144, and verbal 126. The psycologist said that it might be higher if he went further in the subtest. She received 18 on 3 of the subtest and a few 17, 16 and so on. Her lowest was a 13. I am curious as to how these scores translate to test age equiv. that I have seen on this sight but do not really understand. I have seen things like 7:2, etc. Also, would the 18s be a ceiling or does it have to be 19? I am confused. Thanks a bunch.

Could you call the tester and ask for that information? I did not get it for my first DD but the second one (different tester) did include it. I had already bugged the first tester about something else, so I decided not to ask. You would get an age equivalency for individual subtests.

Yes, I can, but funny you mentioned already bugging the tester. He is very nice and I'm sure he wouldn't mind but for some reason I didn't want to ask. Probably because, at his suggestion, we agreed to do the academic testing with the educational consultant that works with him and he said that she would prepare the full report (including WPPSI results) for gifted, etc. She works for the school board and apparantly it her job to prepare the report for gifted and also addresses other learning styles, strengths and weaknesses.

Since we are going to a private school, all we really needed is the WPPSI (which is what we orginally requested and paid for) and we needed it now. I had to ask him to send me the WPPSI rather than wait on the comprehensive report from both tests. I guess I felt like I would be asking him to do more work.

He did mention to me something about depending on the outcome of the academic testing, he could go further in some of the subtest and her score might be higher. This is really only necessary if we wanted to use the gifted program in our public school system. We are not considering public school at this time but agreed to the academic part just to have the packet prepared and sent to the school board just in case. We are in no hurry and she is very booked so we are doing it in the next few months.

She was just screened by another private school using the Gessel and I haven't seen those results yet, but I believe they might compare developmental age to chronicolgical age. I really would like to compare it to the test age equiv. of the WPPSI.

I was hoping I could find some chart out there on the web, but if not, I will just have to ask. Thanks for the info.
