    Hi everybody,

    We're using EPGY and love it. How many questions (on average) does it take to move up a grade? If my son is doing work at 1.8 level I know that means 1st grade 8th month but what do they go up to? Do they go up to 1.12 or less than that since there are less months in a school year?

    The number represents a percentage complete for the given grade level:
    1.80 = 80% complete with 1st grade; 1.08 = 8% complete, etc.

    Ok thanks! I was confused there smile So I guess he has 20% more to go to get to 2nd grade. I'm trying to figure out where he's at to try and advocate at school more. Right now they're still learning to count in his class.

    It doesn't take long to move up - or at least it seems that way to me. DS started Oct 16th at K level (0.0) and hit 3.01 on Dec 16th. He's answered 2174 questions to get to that point (1415 of those being Number Sense Integers).

    He often doesn't pay attention and has the answer in the wrong spot, so there is a bunch of 'extra' questions in there as well. I remember only about 300 questions for K, and I think around 1000 he was done with 1st so about 1100 questions for 2nd.

    ETA: doesn't it stink that they are doing much more challenging stuff at home and counting to 10 at school? DS only really likes recess and his teacher at school these days. I'm hoping something positive comes out of our SST meeting for him. (He wants to homeschool next year so we'll see about that after finding out what the school will do for him, they don't even offer GATE until 4th grade and even then it's only after school programs)
