We have appointments for these tests, 1.5 hours for each (dd8 is taking them on two separate days). Does that sound right? Last time we did testing, it seemed like the WISC took forever (but then, dd was only 6 at the time and required some warming up to the tester first).

good question. How about the SB5. Do you think that 45 min is enough for a 5 year old?

That should be plenty of time. Testing time depends on the quickness of the examiner to move through the materials, but also on the response time of the child, how far they go on each subtest, etc.

My DD6 took about 2 hours for the WISC, maybe a little more. She took a brief break and just stopped to eat a snack when she needed (without coming out of the office).

Her tester had orignally allowed for about 1 hour for the WJ-III, and she also went over 2 hours.

The more advanced academically they are, the longer it can take; but as mentioned above, it depends on many other items like the tester's style.

DS7 took about 1.5 hours for the WISC, but took about 2 hours for the WJIII. We didn't do WIAT.
