I've learned that in 5th grade in our district, all of the fifth graders do the science curriculum together, including the full-day gifted program (they mix the classes up). I'm not sure what this means at the schools where there is no full day program--currently only two schools have the full-day classes.

Am I reading too much into this, or does anyone else think it might be a red flag about the district's philosophy about the gifted program?

Wow - 2 schools with full-day classes for gifted program. That is so amazing! Our whole district has zero gifted programing. Not even a 45 minute/week pull out!

My hope is that there are labs in Science, and that it makes a tiny bit of sense to keep eveyone together...
